Inchwater Home Care are pleased to announce our membership of the Kent Dementia Action Alliance. Kent DAA was established to broaden the scope of organisations working with people with dementia, or their families, to ensure a truly inter-professional approach.
We are pleased to support the Alliance and have developed an action plan that states our intention to partner with other service providers to establish Dementia Friendly Communities across our locality.
A Dementia Friendly Community is one in which a person with dementia can have a positive experience when they journey into town; where they are supported to remain as independent as possible.
A Dementia Friendly Community is one where the carer of the person with dementia is also supported; whether they be husband, wife, daughter, son, neighbour, friend or distant relative, they too should feel that they have the support of their local community behind them.
Our first Dementia Friendly Community project is almost ready to launch! We will provide links and details when it is ready to go, so that you can find out more and, hopefully, choose to take part.
