Sometimes, defining what care is needed can be difficult. This is why we often term the service we provide as ‘companionship’.
Companionship fills in the gaps between personal care, home help and other terms, and is a highly bespoke service that depends on the needs and wants of the individual. This can include taking someone shopping, accompnaying them to an appointment such as the GP, dentist or other service, or something closer to home such as helping with household tasks or contacts.
Here are just a few of the ways in which we can help:
- Companionship and conversation
- Arranging and escorting to appointments
- Help with travel arrangements
- Assist with clothing selection
- Assist with entertaining
- Help with reading
- Participate in hobbies and crafts
- Monitor diet and eating
- Buy magazines, papers and books
- Renting and playing films
- Plan visits, outings and trips
- Visit neighbours and friends
- Accompany to lunch or dinner
- Attend club meetings and sporting events
