I will eat rich tea biscuits, but I don’t feel they say quality and one is never enough! I feel a choice of ‘hot beverage accompaniment’ is required, and at least one type should have chocolate on it (and not just be chocolate coloured).
Why do I feel that a quality biscuit is important you may ask…
A biscuit is a treat, a tasty snack to have between meals and not just a means of getting a few calories into someone. You choose a biscuit to suit your mood (and I am never in a rich tea mood!) Biscuits are to be enjoyed, savoured and not just consumed.
Care homes and residential facilities need to recognise that they can be judged on the quality and quantity of their biscuits by people like me. I suggest CQC should comment on the biscuit provision for residents! I feel that the quality and quantity of biscuits provided, is an important consideration when choosing a residential home.
Perhaps being cared for at home is the way forward for me, where I can keep supporting the quality biscuit industry to my heart’s content. The choice of quality and quantity will be mine.
Don’t get me started on cake – homemade, a decent sized wedge and served with a cake fork obviously !!
