Caregiver Induction – setting the standard!

We would like to welcome four of the latest additions to the Inchwater Home Care team, Sarah, Lisa, Jade and Anna, who have  just completed their three-day induction training.

Induction TInduction: Sarah, Lisa, Jade and Annaraining is a comprehensive course that trains and tests caregiver knowledge and skills in key areas such as Health and Safety, Medication, First Aid, Fire Safety and Food Hygiene. Complimenting this were in-depth discussions and Q and A sessions of issues surrounding care at home, such as dignity, safeguarding, personalisation and social inclusion – all hugely important when delivering high quality care services to older people.

Maddie, Care Manager, says “Caregivers are offered training at all levels of their career, with Basic, Intermediate and Advanced awards available in subjects such as dementia, palliative care, long-term conditions and communication. Continuing Professional Development is seen as best practice for any social care worker and is a requirement for all members of staff at Inchwater”.

Paul Watts, owner of the Dover office and Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development qualified trainer, says “…training is not just about receiving information, it should be about contributing your own knowledge too. Sarah, Lisa, Jade and Anna have set the standard very high and have added their experience and knowledge to the sessions which has resulted in a very interesting and enjoyable course!”.
